Words have started to lose meaning…

One issue I’m having – which may be due to my lack of familiarity with the Japanese language, or may be due to the language itself and how it translates – is how to deal with the plural versions of certain cards.

Leg(s) Part(s) Card(s)

Which become plural? The last, obviously, only becomes plural when referring to multiple cards. But is it one part composed of both legs? Or do many small parts come together to form those legs, and therefore are the leg parts? Leg Parts Cards? Or Legs Part Cards?

The more I think about it, the less these words mean to me. In the meantime, here are some of the cards causing me problems, with the wording i’m using for the time being. Omitting the word “card” has made it simpler for now…

The State of Things

Just to establish where this project right now as this blog is being started, here it is:

I’ve recreated the templates piece-by-piece into editable templates in Photoshop for Medarotter, Medal, and Parts cards. I’ve remained as accurate to the originals as possible, for the most part.

After having translated and completed all the Medal and Medarotter cards, I’ve decided to change the sizing of the cards slightly to better suit a different online card printing service that appears to make better quality product in the quantities needed for this game. I also discovered a few neat little tricks that make printed fonts look better, so I implemented those as I went along. Here’s a preview of some of the Medal cards completed so far:

Well, that’s about all there is to share for the time being. Until next time!
